Toddler

1.5 to 3 Years

Children in the Toddler classroom explore the Montessori environment. Montessori helps the children to be independent in practical life and Cultural skills. Through the toddler years cognitive, motor, sensorial and language skills develop in child size Montessori environment which is specifically designed according to their needs and development.

Practical life in Montessori is a purposeful activity, develops motor control and coordination, and develops independence, concentration, and a sense of responsibility. The exercises in practical life cover two main areas of development: care of self, and care of the environment.

It is a teaching approach that stimulates the child’s five senses. Which allows children to use their senses to explore and understand the world around them. It includes activities that help them study objects, colors, textures tastes, numbers and situations.

They use scientifically designed materials to learn concrete Arithmetic concepts. They also understand basic number concepts practically.

During this year’s language and cultural skills develop at a rapid rate. Singing, stories, fingerplays, and spontaneous conversation encourage both social and language skills. Cultural skills include science, botany as well as geography which we guide the children with various  Montessori materials.
